Arguably the Solent's most beautiful port, Lymington is a picturesque Georgian market town in the centre of the New Forest National Park. Situated in the western Solent Lymington is close to the well known landmarks Hurst Castle, the Needles and Yarmouth on The Isle of Wight. Lymington Yacht Haven is our home port. The hub of the marina is the excellent Haven Bar and Bistro - a great location from which to start and end your event. Spring 2014 will see The Haven Bar re open its doors after a full winter refurbishment. The original charm of the venue will be retained, but now also has full height glazing with stunning panoramic views over the Solent. The sun terrace features jumbo heated parasols and BBQ tables whilst inside the snug area now has a feature fireplace for the more wintry days. Watch this space for an official opening day!

Solent Events Sales Manager Simon Hedley is a race officer for Cowes Town Regatta Committee at the Royal Yacht Squadron during Aberdeen Asset Management Cowes Week each year. This year sees the 50th anniversary of Cowes Combined Clubs (CCC) and guess who features in a starring role on the home page of the official regatta website? we all think it shows his best side! Despite the regatta being close to 190 years old, it was not until 1964 following the suggestion by HRH The Duke of Edinburgh (who was a regular competitor and Admiral of the Royal Yacht Squadron) that Cowes Combined Clubs was formed to organise and run the regatta. Simon takes the Thursday of Cowes Week off each year to act as Line Officer and during the 2012 regatta had the job of confirming the fastest ever round the Isle of Wight time of 2 hours 21 minutes and 25 seconds set by the MOD 70 Catamaran Foncia. Today Cowes Week is one of the UK's longest running and most successful sporting events and is the largest sailing regatta of its kind in the world. Solent Events are proud to be an official charter provider for the regatta and are currently busy planning the 2014 event. Solent Events are official charter supplier to Aberdeen Asset Management Cowes Week, so if you are interested in taking part please contact us for more information.
