Camper & Nicholsons Marinas Limited has signed an agreement for the development of a 400-berth marina at Victoria Quay in East Cowes, Isle of Wight. Simply the development itself will create over 250 jobs. Cowes Harbour Commission will have more updates coming soon..
Once completed, the marina will offer superyachts at the smaller end of the spectrum the chance to base themselves in the UK. Sean Purdy, marketing director at Camper & Nicholsons Marinas, revealed the berths would range from approximately 10m to a maximum of 30m or 35m. With superyachts being classified as 30m and upwards, this just falls into the category of a superyacht marina. How exciting?! We are very excited about this here at Solent Events – all those stunning boats on our doorstep!
Mayor of East Cowes, Councillor Mike Lloyd, added: ‘East Cowes Town Council is very pleased with the news that developers have been identified for the new marina project and shoreside redevelopment in East Cowes. This will enhance the town’s image, provide much needed employment and an increased footfall for local businesses. It is hoped that the exciting Solent Gateways project along with the new Cowes Harbour Breakwater will continue to attract further investment into East Cowes.’
