The Iconic Round the Island Race

As you might expect, there is plenty happening ashore in Cowes and your race entry entitles you to access the Race Village with its fantastic bars and live music. Please remember to book early for the widest choice of accommodation and restaurants – globally, this a well-known annual event!

Let us know if you wish to charter a Rib so that you may keep the event to the single day if required. We will take you to join the yacht on race morning and bring you back after the race finish. Solent Events will look after all aspects of the weekend to ensure you get the most out of your time afloat and ashore.

Novice or experienced alike

Our yacht charters welcome complete novices as well as experienced sailors. We sail on race prepared 40 – 70 foot yachts with a minimum of a professional skipper and mate who will encourage your crew to fully participate. We cater for those looking to simply take part and those aiming for a podium position.

Winning formula

For those looking for a podium position, we are able to put together a winning race programme using high-spec racing yachts, optimised for IRC racing. Past successes include 2nd in the hotly contested Class One two years running with corporate crews onboard. We have insider access to world class racers including ex and current Volvo Ocean racers, Round the World yachtsmen, Olympians, Paralympians and America’s Cup sailors.

Familiarisation

Join us the day prior to the race start for a day of yacht familiarisation and practice. For 2026 this would be Friday 10th July with the Race on Saturday 11th July and a leisurely return sail from Cowes on Sunday morning if your timings allow.
